From a School Project
to a Movement for Inclusion

Get to know Shine Beyond the Shadow…

Hello!

Shine Beyond the Shadow began with a student’s passion for Design and Technology, combining real-world problem-solving with creative design using tools like 3D printers and laser cutters.

This interest grew through a love for board games and a national game design competition hosted by Bangkok Planetarium. Competing among over 90 teams and winning honorable mention, the experience inspired a powerful idea:

"Games can be more than fun—they can be tools for change."

Shine Beyond the Shadow is dedicated to creating innovative 3D tactile board games that promote inclusion and accessibility for the visually impaired. We believe in the power of play to bring people together, spark imagination, and break down barriers.

Blind and visually impaired individuals still face limited access to inclusive games that support cognitive and emotional development. While audio-based tools exist, they often lack the essential tactile experiences needed for non-visual learning.

That’s why Shine Beyond the Shadow was created—to close this gap by designing games where blind players are not treated as “special participants,” but as equally capable players.

Our mission is to revolutionize play through inclusive design, using tactile systems that engage all senses. We aim to make gaming not only accessible, but meaningful—fostering imagination, planning skills, and shared joy for everyone.

Our mission directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 10.2, promoting the social, economic, and political inclusion of all, especially those with disabilities. With every game we create, we’re not just building play—we’re building equity.
